Getting to the Airport

Once on the island there are many ways of getting around Mahe and to and from the Seychelles International Airport. There are car hire services and private taxi services as well as public buses.

By Car

The most popular form of transportation around Mahe, is by car. This way, our tourists can experience the island at their own pace. From the most Northern end of Mahe (Machabee) to the Seychelles International Airport, the trip takes from 35 to 45 minutes. From the most Southern end of Mahe (Pointe Du Sud) to the Seychelles International Airport, the trip takes approximately 45 minutes.

By Bus

The public bus service in Seychelles runs throughout the day from 05h00 to 20h00. Travellers on holiday to the Seychelles wishing to use buses are advised not to travel with large suitcases, as the public buses do not allow spaces for large pieces of luggage on board.

Bus journeys from the Seychelles International Airport to Victoria and to the North of Mahe, takes an hour and a half – as another bus has to be taken from Victoria to reach the North of Mahe.

From the Seychelles International Airport to the South of Mahe it takes an hour by bus.

Bus fares are SR5.00 or $0.39 or €0.35 for all journeys. Airconditioned coaches are also available and are priced at SR10.00 or $0.80 or €0.72 per journey.
