As of today (April 1st ), the Seychelles International Airport’s (SIA) long term parking users will see a reduction in rates. The free parking duration will also be increased to 30 minutes for all airport users instead of the initial 15 minutes.
This decision was made by the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) following its quarterly assessment of the operation since the pay parking facility was introduced at SIA late last year.
SCAA’s Business Development Manager Mr Jusha Marguerite said that during the quarterly review the authority has seriously reconsidered the long-term parking rates as well as the free parking period following concerns and feedback from airport users.
“Our airport users are of utmost importance to us and after listening to them we have revised the rates as well as increase the free parking duration, with the aim of encouraging the public to make maximum use of the various airport services and facilities, and facilitate the overall airport operation and traffic management.”
The new long-term parking fees are as follows:
Package 'weekender' - up to 3 days SR480
Package " weekly" - up to 7 days SR800
Package "monthly" - up to 30 days SR2800
The above packages are applicable for parking duration exceeding 24 hours only.
All payments should be made in advance at the pay parking office which is based at the airport prior to parking.
It is worth noting that the pay parking facility at the SIA is part of SCAA’s strategic plan to improve service, safety, security and expand commercial avenues through the redevelopment of traffic management at the airport.
The SIA parking facility has 315 slots and an additional 17 for motorbikes.
All parking areas at SIA will continue to be surveilled by the aviation security and the Police, and any violations of traffic and parking rules on the premises is subject to a penalty fee of SR200 in line with the national road transport regulations and a SR600 penalty for loss of parking tickets.
